37 rain-inspired patches for Moog Minitaur
Version 1.0

Drips from the eaves, water in the gutter, hail on a bin lid. Pitter/Patter takes its starting points from rain and the things it lands on.

This download contains 37 individual presets for the Moog Minitaur hardware synthesiser, plus a patch guide. Download free at synthiakonig.com.

INSTALLATION
1. Unzip the download.
2. Open Minitaur Editor. In Preset Manager, right-click an existing preset folder and choose Open Folder Location. Go to its parent Presets Library folder.
3. Quit the Editor. From this download's Presets folder, copy the folder named Synthia Pitter Patter into Presets Library, alongside the existing folders.
4. Reopen the Editor and select Synthia Pitter Patter. Double-click a preset to load it on the connected Minitaur.

On Mac, the default library location in Editor 3.3.3 is:
~/Library/Application Support/Moog Music Inc./Minitaur/Presets Library
Paste this into Finder's Go > Go to Folder.

On Windows, use Open Folder Location in the Editor to find your preset library.

Use the folder-copy method above. Import Bank restores a full hardware bank and can overwrite your saved sounds. Back up your synth before saving patches into hardware slots, and check Auto Send before moving presets to those slots. The numbers in the filenames are the patch-list order.

BEFORE PLAYING
Use Minitaur firmware 2.2 or later. In the Editor, enable Independent Decay/Release, Load Preset Volume and Load Preset Mod Wheel for the stored envelopes and modulation settings.

Start with low monitor volume and adjust it between patches. Connect the Minitaur's audio output to your mixer, interface or speakers. USB carries MIDI only. Match your keyboard or DAW's MIDI channel to the Minitaur's receive channel.

PLAYING THE PATCHES
The Minitaur plays one note at a time, up to MIDI note 72. Suggested note ranges are in PATCH-GUIDE.txt; octave labels vary between keyboards and DAWs.

Tap the drip and splash patches. Hold the rain and storm patches to give the envelopes time to open. Some attacks and releases are long.

The mod wheel controls movement where it is assigned. Several patches start with the wheel amount stored at full; lower it for less movement. Their LFO runs independently of the song tempo. Turn LFO Rate to change its speed.

Slow Runoff uses legato glide. Overlap notes to make it slide.

The patches use the Minitaur's oscillators, filter and modulation. They need no external audio input or MIDI clock. You can add reverb or delay in your mixer or DAW.

IF YOU HEAR NOTHING
Check the audio connection, monitor volume and MIDI activity. Match the sending and receiving MIDI channels, then try a known working preset. For a slow patch, hold the key rather than tapping it.
